Daracon Group is seeking an experienced and proactive Environmental Advisor to join our HSEQT team in Sydney.
You will play an important role in mentoring site teams, conducting inspections and audits, supporting incident investigations, delivering environmental training and promoting continuous improvement. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who can build trusted relationships and translate environmental requirements into practical solutions for project delivery.

About the Role
Key responsibilities include:
Provide environmental advice, guidance and mentoring to project managers, site managers, engineers and operational teams
Review the environmental requirements of projects and work with site management to implement appropriate controls that minimise environmental impact
Design, prepare and inspect Progressive Erosion and Sediment Control Plans and verify that required measures are implemented on site
Undertake regular site inspections and maintain accurate records relating to environmental controls and protection measures
Monitor compliance with environmental legislation, Daracon policies, procedures and the Environmental Management System

Identify relevant legislative changes and promptly communicate potential impacts or required actions to the Divisional Manager - HSEQT
Conduct internal environmental and quality audits across project sites and offices in accordance with established audit schedules
Support external audits and assist with maintaining the currency, usability and certification of Daracon’s documented management systems
Investigate environmental incidents, prepare investigation reports and monitor the implementation of corrective actions
Facilitate site-based environmental risk assessments and assist with the development of activity-specific Safe Work Environmental Method Statements
Assist with the preparation of environmental and quality information for tenders and submissions within required deadlines
About You
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
Relevant tertiary qualifications in environmental science, environmental management or a related discipline
Previous experience in an environmental advisory role, ideally within civil construction, infrastructure or another project-based operational environment
A practical understanding of environmental legislation, compliance obligations and environmental management systems
Experience developing, implementing and inspecting erosion and sediment controls
The ability to conduct environmental inspections, audits, risk assessments and incident investigations
Strong written skills, with the ability to prepare clear reports, audit findings, incident documentation and tender responses
The confidence to provide practical advice and positively influence environmental behaviours across project and site teams
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to develop effective relationships with employees, clients and other external parties
A proactive and solutions-focused approach, supported by sound judgement and strong attention to detail
The ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively across multiple projects or locations
