FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking an Environment Manager to work for our client within the Financial Services sector. This is initially a 12-month contract with very good prospects to extend and will be a hybrid role based in Edinburgh or Cheshire.
Our client is seeking an experienced Environment Manager to lead the planning, governance, provisioning, and operational management of programme environments supporting a large-scale transformation initiative. The successful candidate will act as the central coordination point across delivery, infrastructure, testing, data, and third-party teams, ensuring environments are available, stable, secure, and aligned to programme milestones and release schedules.

About The Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Environment Manager to lead the planning, governance, provisioning, and operational management of programme environments supporting a large-scale transformation initiative. The successful candidate will act as the central coordination point across delivery, infrastructure, testing, data, and third-party teams, ensuring environments are available, stable, secure, and aligned to programme milestones and release schedules.
Responsibilities
- Define and maintain the programme environment strategy, roadmap, and plans aligned to delivery milestones and release schedules.
- Establish and govern environment policies, standards, inventories, and configuration baselines.
- Coordinate environment provisioning, configuration, refreshes, backups, access management, monitoring, and decommissioning activities.
- Manage environment-related incidents and act as the escalation point for issue resolution and continuous improvement activities.
