This is a unique opportunity to lead the environmental function within the Environment Agency Collaborative Delivery Framework. You'll provide technical environmental advice and ensure compliance and strong environmental performance across projects throughout the Southwest. This role drives continuous improvement, supports pre-construction planning, and ensures effective implementation of environmental controls on site.
As an Environment Manager, you'll be working within the Environment Agency CDF - Southwest team, supporting them in delivering projects with strong environmental performance and compliance. Your day to day will include:
Providing technical advice on permits, licensing and consents during pre-construction and throughout delivery
Ensuring effective implementation of environmental controls across sites and verifying risks are managed before works commence
Completing audits and inspections, collecting and reporting environmental data to support framework KPI tracking
Liaising with clients, regulators and subcontractors to support compliance and alignment with Environment Agency requirements
Investigating environmental incidents and creating monthly lessons learned bulletins to share across the framework

You have significant experience working in an environmental management role, preferably within infrastructure or construction sectors
You hold an environmental related degree or equivalent and membership (or working towards) of a professional body such as IEMA, CIWEM or CIWM
You have a detailed understanding of environmental legislation, impact mitigation and working with statutory authorities
You have strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to effectively communicate environmental risks to different job roles and levels of awareness
You have working knowledge of ISO 14001 and auditing skills, and are flexible and willing to travel across the Southwest
