The EHS Coordinator plays an important role in supporting a safe, healthy, and compliant workplace at Sunrise Farms. Reporting to the plant leadership team, this position is responsible for supporting the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) programs and initiatives across the facility.
The EHS Coordinator must be a hands-on safety professional who is comfortable spending time on the production floor and building strong working relationships with employees and leaders. By partnering with production, maintenance, and management teams, they will help identify and reduce workplace risks, support regulatory compliance, promote employee wellbeing, and contribute to a culture where safety is a shared responsibility.
Promote a positive safety culture by engaging employees and leaders in health, safety, and environmental initiatives.
Conduct regular inspections, audits, and observations throughout the facility to identify hazards and ensure safe work practices are followed.
Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of EHS programs, procedures, and training.
Lead or support incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action plans.
Track corrective actions and follow up to ensure timely completion and effectiveness.
Maintain hazard assessments, safe work procedures, and other EHS documentation.
Coordinate Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) activities, meetings, inspections, and reporting requirements.
Monitor workplace injury claims and support return-to-work and modified work programs.
Deliver new hire safety orientation and assist with ongoing employee training and awareness programs.
Provide coaching and guidance to employees and supervisors on health, safety, and environmental requirements.
Analyze EHS performance metrics and prepare reports for facility and corporate leadership.
Support internal audits, regulatory inspections, and compliance initiatives.
