Knowledge, skills and abilities

• Some knowledge and understanding of consultative coaching principles, including active listening and goal clarification.

• Some knowledge and understanding of the importance of privacy and accuracy when handling student information.

• Strong customer service and consultative skill providing timely and accurate information to others.

• Possess excellent oral and written communication skills for clear and effective information delivery.

• Demonstrated strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Demonstrated excellent ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Demonstrated ability to build rapport with prospects, students, and customers by listening attentively; using problem-solving techniques; reading and interpreting complex information; relaying information effectively and professionally.

• Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively in a team environment to accomplish individual and team goals.

• Demonstrated ability to learn and leverage student enrollment technologies.

Level and type of experience

• Considerable experience with PC-related software and information systems to include Microsoft Office products, customer relationship management ( CRM ) systems, instant messaging, e-mail, and web conferencing.

• Some student services experience in a higher education setting.

Additional Considerations (supplemental knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience, licensure, certification)

• Some knowledge of principles and practices ( NACAC , NACADA ) in college student services.

• Some experience providing consultative coaching and customer service to non-traditional students in an online environment.

• Some experience providing basic curriculum guidance to college students.

• Some experience within a college admissions office is a plus.

• Some experience as an enrollment coordinator.

Conditions of Employment

• The equipment provided to staff with approved telework agreements enables them to deliver vital services to University faculty, staff, and students from remote locations.

• Many of our operations can and should continue as usual, even when the main physical campus is closed.

• Therefore, all division employees with an approved telework agreement are generally expected to work during official University closures.
