Engineering Technician I

The Engineering Technician I is responsible for providing hands-on technical support to the engineering, technology, and/or systems engineering functions. Support may be required during the design, development, assembly, and test phases of process equipment, instrumentation, tooling, etc. The Engineering Technician I is given assignments that are less complex. Technical oversight and direction is provided.

• Support engineering staff during the assembly, test, and qualification of various equipment, instrumentation, tooling, etc. required for process systems

• Prepare simple assembly drawings, equipment/floor layouts, specifications, training documentation, process instructions and procedures, etc. via hand-drawn sketches and standard office applications

• Utilize a variety of standard test equipment, gauges, and other measurement equipment to evaluate and document the performance of components, sub-assemblies, and complex process systems.

• Gather and organize data and other input in support of Return on Investment (ROI) cost analysis, process efficiency and improvement, capability and tolerancing studies, etc.

• Provide hands-on assembly, troubleshooting, and repair of components, sub-assemblies, and final systems using formalized drawings, sketches, or detailed verbal and/or written instructions

• Function as an effective team member through collaboration, conflict resolution, encouragement, respectful interactions with co-workers, active listening, etc.
