Project Role

Core Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience and 15 years of full-time education are required.
• The role requires 5–9 years of telecom industry experience with hands-on 5G Core experience.
• Mandatory experience with the Nokia 5G Core-SA platform is required.
• Experience with fault management, KPI analysis, incident restoration, log and trace collection, and escalation management is required.
• Working knowledge of CNFs, containers, Kubernetes or EKS, microservices, and cloud observability is required.
• Knowledge of 5G Core protocols and interfaces including N1, N2, N3, N6, N7, N8, GTP-C/U, and HTTPS is required.
• Hands-on experience with listed 5G Core components and Nokia operational platforms is required.

Fault Handling and Troubleshooting

• Provide NOC operations support for 5G Core standalone network functions in production.
• Monitor alarms, events, service health, and KPIs across in-scope network functions.
• Analyze alarms using NetAct, Mantaray, Netscout, and external monitoring tools.
• Troubleshoot registration, session management, mobility, policy, charging, DNS, IPSec, and handover issues.
• Handle node failures and troubleshoot 5G Core databases, UDM, UDR, SDL, Provisioning, Flowone, CHF, and PCF.
• Perform packet tracing, PCAP and log analysis, Nokia PCMD trace capture, and Netscout log analysis.
• Perform root cause analysis, create RCA documents, and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain shift handovers, operational reports, knowledge articles, and recurring-issue records.
• Identify playbook improvement and operational automation opportunities while following security and change controls.

Session and Change Operations

• Trace subscriber issues involving 5G attach, PDU sessions, and QoS.
• Use EDR, Flow Tracer, and Nokia Cloud Operations Manager for investigations.
• Correlate user-plane drops, abnormal releases, and bearer QoS mismatches.
• Perform preventive health checks and backup activities.
• Create and validate Methods of Procedure with operations teams and stakeholders.
• Execute approved changes, assess pre- and post-checks, and communicate service impact.
• Support software upgrades, patch management, configuration changes, and new 5G Core node integration.

Monitoring, Security and Reporting

• Monitor registration success, PDU session setup success, latency, throughput, and user-plane utilization KPIs.
• Detect degrading KPI trends proactively.
• Provide application support for Nokia EDR and CrowdStrike.
• Assist with certificate renewal, firewall or NAT issues, and access failures.
• Escalate unresolved issues to L3 teams, TAC, OSS, and Core Engineering.
• Work with L3 and care teams to resolve issues and support SLA compliance.
• Generate daily, weekly, and monthly network performance, incident trend, and SLA reports.
