Project Role

Fault Handling and Troubleshooting

• Provide NOC operations support for 5G Core standalone network functions in production.
• Monitor alarms, events, service health, and KPIs across in-scope 5G Core functions.
• Analyze alarms from NetAct, Mantaray, and external monitoring tools.
• Correlate events using Netscout, Mantaray, and PM/CM data.
• Troubleshoot registration, session management, mobility, policy, charging, DNS, IPSec, and handover issues.
• Perform packet tracing, core trace capture, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and escalation support.
• Maintain shift handovers, operational reports, knowledge articles, and recurring-issue records.

Session and Service Investigation

• Trace subscriber issues involving 5G attach, PDU sessions, and QoS.
• Use EDR, Flow Tracer, and Nokia Cloud Operations Manager.
• Correlate user-plane drops, abnormal releases, and bearer QoS mismatches.
• Perform preventive health checks and backup measures.

Configuration and Change Management

• Create methods of procedure for changes and validate them with operations teams and stakeholders.
• Maintain network configuration, incident, and operational procedure documentation.
• Support software upgrades, patch management, and configuration changes.
• Execute approved methods of procedure, perform pre- and post-checks, and communicate service impacts.
• Support integration of new 5G Core nodes and features into the live network.

Performance, Security, and Reporting

• Use NetAct and NetScout KPI dashboards to monitor registration success, PDU session setup, latency, throughput, and user-plane utilization.
• Detect degrading KPI trends proactively.
• Support Nokia EDR and CrowdStrike applications, certificate renewal, firewall or NAT issues, and access failures.
• Escalate unresolved issues to L3 teams, TAC, OSS/Core engineering, and care teams.
• Generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports on network performance, incidents, and SLA compliance.

Professional and Technical Skills

• The project details state a minimum of 7.5 years of experience; the technical section states 12–18 years in telecom with hands-on 5G Core experience.
• Mandatory experience with the Nokia 5G Core-SA platform.
• Experience in fault management, KPI analysis, incident restoration, log and trace collection, and escalation management.
• Working knowledge of CNFs, containers, Kubernetes or EKS, microservices, and cloud observability.
• Strong understanding of 5G Core protocols and interfaces including N1, N2, N3, N6, N7, N8, GTP-C/U, and HTTPS.
• Hands-on experience with the listed 5G Core components and Nokia operational tools.
• Fifteen years of full-time education.
