- Maintain system health, reliability, and readiness; monitor performance and manage equipment reliability issues.
- Protect design and licensing basis; ensure systems align with approved design basis and licensing commitments.
- Lead engineering resolution of complex technical issues including troubleshooting and root cause evaluations.
- Oversee engineering changes and technical deliverables; review and approve design modifications and specifications.
- Support operations, maintenance, and outage execution; partner with station organizations.
- Ensure regulatory, quality, and procedural compliance with nuclear regulations and standards.
- Lead and develop the ECI/NPC engineering team; manage priorities, coach staff, and promote safety culture.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Nuclear, Electrical, Chemical, Systems Engineering, or relevant field)
- Minimum 4 years of related working experience in nuclear power plant or comparable high reliability environment
- Minimum 2 years engineering leadership and people management experience
- Must be a fully licensed engineer in Ontario or eligible to be licensed
- Knowledge of nuclear safety systems including ECI, containment, HVAC, pumps, valves, piping, instrumentation, controls
- Experience resolving complex plant technical issues including troubleshooting, operability assessments, root cause analysis
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Job Overview
- Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic and results driven professional to join our team in the role of Engineering Manager.
- Reporting to the Senior Manager, Performance Engineering, the Engineering Manager will oversee a department focused on providing systems engineering, systems health, equipment reliability, technical advice and guidance with regards to ECI/NPC Systems within the nuclear station/facility.
Key Accountabilities
- Provide technical leadership for ECI/NPC and HVAC systems.
- Maintain system health, reliability, and readiness.
- Protect the design and licensing basis.
- Lead engineering resolution of complex technical issues.
- Oversee engineering changes and technical deliverables.
- Support operations, maintenance, and outage execution.
- Ensure regulatory, quality, and procedural compliance.
- Lead and develop the ECI/NPC engineering team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Nuclear, Electrical, Chemical, Systems Engineering, or another relevant field).
- Minimum of 4 years of related working experience in nuclear power plant, nuclear facility, or comparable high reliability, safety critical industrial environment is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years engineering leadership and people management experience.
- Knowledge of nuclear safety systems, including emergency coolant injection, emergency core cooling, containment systems, containment isolation, HVAC, pumps, valves, piping, instrumentation, controls, and support systems are a strong asset.
- Experience resolving complex plant technical issues including demonstrated capability in troubleshooting, operability/functionality assessments, root cause analysis, corrective action development, and equipment reliability improvement.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Candidate must be a fully licensed engineer in the province of Ontario, or be eligible to be licensed in the Province of Ontario.

Salary Range
- CAD 111,000.00 CAD 161,000.00 per year
