About the Role
The Engineering Manager will lead a dedicated team of engineers building and scaling Focal.
The role emphasizes innovation, reliability, and delivering impactful customer solutions.
What You’ll Do
- Manage and mentor engineers who design, develop, and maintain product features.
- Ensure code and design quality meet industry best practices and high standards.
- Coach engineers on design, architecture, effort sizing, and testing practices.
- Provide performance feedback and guide individual learning and development plans.
- Initiate hiring and resource allocation for the team.
- Remove impediments and oversee implementation of the software development process.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- At least 10 years of software engineering experience, preferably in SaaS or large-scale distributed applications.
- Previous team leadership experience.
- Strong communication and technical explanation skills.
- Experience with multiple programming languages.
- Understanding of system design and distributed computing principles.
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, including HBase, Cassandra, and MongoDB.
- Understanding of Scrum and software development processes.
