Engineering Lecturer – Fabrication (Steel/Sheet metal)

You will join our Early Careers Team to deliver engaging, industry‐focused training in Steelwork and Sheet metal work, supporting apprentices as they develop the skills and behaviours needed for advanced manufacturing careers.

Based at Furness College, you’ll help create a positive and collaborative learning environment, using your engineering experience to bring the curriculum to life and ensure apprentices make meaningful progress.

Core duties:

• Delivering teaching on advanced manufacturing programmes, aligned with Apprenticeship standards and BAE Systems’ learning delivery models, incorporating innovation to enhance teaching and learning practice

• Contributing to the planning, monitoring and evaluation of the curriculum, while promoting a positive and meaningful learning culture

• Preparing and marking assessments across programmes, providing clear, constructive feedback to ensure the rapid development of apprentices’ skills and knowledge

• Conducting apprentice performance reviews, setting high-quality, targeted objectives to drive continuous improvement in skills, knowledge and behaviours

• Producing accurate, timely reports and data on apprentice progress, with proactive monitoring and analysis to support development

• Supporting apprentice interviews, enrolment, induction, open days and enrichment activities

• Contributing to the development of inclusive blended learning approaches, making use of digital platforms to enrich curriculum delivery
