Engineering Lead (Civil & Structural)

Role Overview

Engineering Leadership

• Lead the civil and structural engineering discipline and contribute to project strategy and goals.
• Coordinate with owners, shareholders, facilities owners, contractors, vendors, consultants, and other disciplines.
• Evaluate complex engineering tasks and provide recommendations to management.
• Develop policies, procedures, best practices, lessons learned, systems, and software tools to improve project execution.

Project Delivery

• Prepare plans and work schedules for effective project completion.
• Participate in contracting and procurement from prequalification and bid invitations through evaluation, execution, and close-out.
• Monitor and guide contractors and third-party services throughout project phases.
• Ensure facilities are constructed to scope, LNG standards, approved schedule, and approved project cost.
• Maintain a full chronology of civil and structural design revisions for contract administration.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Civil and Structural Engineering.
• At least 8 years of civil and structural engineering experience, including at least 4 years in oil and gas.
• At least 1 year in a supervisory or acting role, or experience overseeing contractor, subcontractor, service, or vendor personnel.
• Major LNG project experience is preferred.
• Previous civil and structural works experience in Qatar is required.
• Excellent written and oral English and proficiency in Microsoft Office are required.

Technical Knowledge

• Broad knowledge of engineering execution, design standards, specifications, codes, safety criteria, onshore LNG facilities, and utility systems design, construction, and operations.
• Strong organizational, planning, coordination, technical, prioritization, management, communication, influence, and interface skills.

Compensation

• Compensation is stated as a day rate in USD plus an allowance.

Work Schedule and Duration

• The work schedule is 10 hours per day and 6 days per week.
• The contract duration is 36 months, with a possible extension.

Location

• The role is located in Qatar and involves onshore project and contractor delivery activities.
