2-5 years of post graduate engineering experience
MS in Materials Engineering with a concentration/interest in metallurgy or MS in Metallurgical Engineering.
Experience in an industrial environment, shipbuilding, or other heavy fabrication.
Experience with Additive Manufacturing processes, including direct-energy deposition and laser powder bed fusion.
Applicants should be familiar with Additive Manufacturing processes, mill production of metal products, casting production, heat treatment, mechanical properties of materials, mechanical property testing and metallographic techniques.
Knowledge of material specifications, standards and technical publications, including Military, Federal, ASTM, and ASM, is desirable.
The applicants must be able to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing, and it is expected that the applicant is able to write technical reports and correspondences using good grammar with correct spelling and punctuation.
Applicants must be personable, interested in working as part of a team in a fast paced environment, interested in learning, willing to consult with coworkers, and comfortable in interacting directly both with hourly technicians and with upper management.
Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is required.
