Position Duties
Performs planning, engineering analysis and design for transportation, drainage, and land development projects Prepares transportation engineering plans, specifications & estimates (PS&E) Analyzes and prepares floodplain and detention studies Prepares technical correspondence to professional consultants, other governmental entities, and the public Reviews Floodplain Development Permits, including interpreting flood studies and determining site-specific flood elevations Responds to drainage/floodplain complaints and coordinates with public to develop feasible solutions utilizing site visits, hydrologic and hydraulic analysis and investigations Coordinates and prepares documents and updates for engineering meetings and public hearings Analyzes subdivision plats, construction plans and permits Performs pavement field evaluations Identifies potential floodplain violations and collaborates with inspections on resolution Attends all meetings and trainings, as required Performs special duties as assigned ORGANIZATION RELATIONSHIPS Reports directly to – An Assigned Supervising Engineer or Senior Engineer Direct Reports: No PHYSICAL DEMANDS Position involves frequent sitting, standing, walking, climbing, bending, heavy lifting and operating equipment Position involves safely operating a motor vehicle ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS Indoor and outdoor work in all environments, including inclement weather Regular travel between work sites Exposure to dust, chemicals, fumes, bacteria, fungus and high noise levels IRREGULAR HOURS Work outside of the normal office hours (Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) may be required May be deemed essential personnel in the event of an emergency The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this job.
