Engineer

Objective

Your key responsibilities will include

• Undertake engineering assessments of heavy vehicles and vehicle combinations to support regulatory decision-making in accordance with the NHVR's obligations under the Heavy Vehicle National Law.
• Contribute to the development and review of technical standards, policies, and operational practices.
• Prepare clear and concise technical reports, briefing notes, and discussion papers to communicate engineering concepts.
• Contribute to the evaluation of innovative vehicle proposals, including new configurations and technologies.
• Participate in technical working groups and stakeholder meetings to support the NHVR’s regulatory and engineering objectives.
• Undertake professional engineering work under the direction and supervision of more senior registered engineers and actively develop engineering competency through structured professional development and formal learning.
• Develop software tools, scripts, and prototypes to support engineering data analysis, assessment workflows, and the visualisation of simulation outputs.
