About the Role

Responsibilities
- Oversee the implementation of initiatives and programs related to student engagement
- Oversee student engagement in the Academic Programs
- Help plan, organize, and implement student success strategies
- Support students with setting personal goals and connecting desired outcomes with current activities, time management skills, prioritizing commitments and meeting deadlines
- Monitor students’ academic progress; identify & generate reports of At Risk students in coordination with the Academic Dean’s office
- Arrange remedial classes: One to One peer tutoring, tutorials, exam revisions etc.
- Support students in establishing career plans and objectives consistent with their educational qualifications
- Identify gifted students, provide support to enrich their skills, facilitate opportunities for the university to benefit from talented skills
- Encourage students to engage in national and international competitions
- Encourage students to apply for prestigious scholarships and honorable awards
- Support students with justification to get exceptional opportunities granted by the Dean/Registrar’s office
- Encourage students to participate in entrepreneurship and leadership activities to enhance their personal growth
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs/Development, or a related field
- A minimum 7 years of relevant experience

Job Purpose
- The Engagement and Development Senior officer has the responsibility to manage and implement programs to foster student engagement, connections with faculty, to other students and to University support services while enabling the academic and personal success of each student.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
