Role Overview
This early-career role is within Secure Network Systems at Viasat Government.
The engineer will develop software supporting encrypted communications systems, embedded cryptographic devices, and emerging cryptographic solutions.
Core Responsibilities
- Design and implement embedded software in C/C++ or Rust.
- Use Linux in an embedded environment and work with TCP/IP and network configuration.
- Collaborate with system, test, and hardware engineers as capabilities are developed and transitioned into service.
- Participate in multidisciplinary teams and Agile Scrum development.
Technical Work
- Develop and modify Linux kernel drivers and bare-metal embedded device drivers.
- Work with NIOS, ARM, RISC-V, and other microprocessors or embedded processors.
- Work with networking protocols including IPSec, MACsec, and TLS.
- Develop Python and standalone embedded applications.
- Contribute to CI/CD software development.
