We are seeking an experienced ELV Technical Coordinator to coordinate the design, installation, testing and commissioning of extra-low voltage systems across construction and infrastructure projects. The role will ensure that ELV works are delivered in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, applicable standards, programme requirements and quality expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the planning, installation, testing and commissioning of extra-low voltage (ELV) systems .
- Review and interpret design drawings, technical specifications, equipment schedules, method statements and material submittals.
- Coordinate ELV systems including structured cabling, data networks, CCTV, access control, public address, intercom, audio-visual, SMATV, IPTV, building management systems, fire alarm and other low-current systems as applicable.
- Coordinate ELV activities with architectural, civil, mechanical, electrical and other specialist works to prevent clashes and ensure efficient installation.
- Support the preparation and review of shop drawings, coordination drawings, builders’ work drawings, material submittals and technical documentation.
- Monitor site installation activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, project specifications, manufacturer requirements and relevant codes and standards.
- Coordinate with consultants, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and project teams to resolve technical and site-related issues.
- Attend site meetings, technical coordination meetings, inspections and progress reviews as required.
- Monitor project progress, manpower, materials and equipment requirements for ELV works.
- Coordinate testing, inspection, pre-commissioning, commissioning and system integration activities.
- Review test plans, inspection requests, commissioning records, system performance results and handover documentation.
- Assist with the preparation and close-out of snagging, non-conformance reports, technical queries and corrective actions.
- Ensure accurate records are maintained, including as-built drawings, operation and maintenance manuals, warranties, test certificates and training records.
- Support compliance with project quality, health and safety, environmental and documentation requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve installation methods, system performance, coordination and project delivery.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree, higher diploma or technical qualification in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Telecommunications, Information Technology or a related discipline.
- Relevant experience as an ELV Engineer, ELV Coordinator, Low-Current Engineer, Systems Coordinator or in a similar role.
- Experience coordinating the installation and commissioning of ELV and low-current systems within commercial, residential, industrial, healthcare, hospitality or infrastructure projects.
- Good knowledge of structured cabling, CCTV, access control, public address, intercom, fire alarm, SMATV, BMS and associated ELV systems.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, technical specifications and coordination layouts.
- Knowledge of relevant international standards, manufacturer requirements, project specifications and applicable health and safety regulations.
- Experience with testing, commissioning, integration and handover of ELV systems.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office and relevant project or documentation management systems.
- Strong technical coordination, communication, problem-solving and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple activities, coordinate stakeholders and meet project deadlines with minimal supervision.
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail and commitment to quality.
