You will be a key member of the team that is responsible for supporting our electronics development and for maintaining the quality of our lab environments. Within your role you will have the opportunity to engage with technical challenges which suit your skills and development goals. Detail-oriented applicants who are passionate about problem solving and with interests spanning a wide range of engineering disciplines are ideal. You will also be involved in the development and day-to-day implementation of both operational processes (e.g., organization systems and 5S audits), Health and Safety practices (e.g., risk assessments, and SOPs), and other laboratory maintenance tasks (e.g. Consumables and stock ordering). This position requires a collaborative candidate with good communication skills.
Simple PCB design (using Altium, e.g. test circuits, breakouts, adapters)
Assembly of low-volume PCB prototypes and precise rework of components
Electronics testing and data collection (e.g., organizing setups, equipment, and monitoring of tests)
Basic mechanical CAD (e.g., IO panel design & 3D printed parts)
Mechanical fabrication and assembly (e.g., 3D printing, product assembly, cable making)
Component sourcing based on defined specifications (e.g., connectors, cables, switches)
Be a go-to person for engineering problem solving
Support the Health and Safety aspects and drive 5S principals
Maintenance, organisation, and asset tracking (e.g., components, tools, and test equipment)
Ensure stock of essential supplies (e.g., resistors, solder, 3D printer materials)
Engage with facilities for planning activities and risk management.
