The Electrical Technician maintains, repairs, and installs electrical systems, equipment, and components in a paper manufacturing facility.
The role supports safe, efficient, and reliable electrical infrastructure for paper production processes.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on electrical systems, motors, transformers, switchgear, and related equipment.
- Install, upgrade, and modify wiring, lighting, and control systems supporting paper production equipment.
- Maintain electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation for the paper mill.
- Ensure compliance with electrical codes, safety standards, and paper-industry regulations.
- Assist with maintenance schedules and procedures and collaborate with maintenance and production teams.
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
Requirements
- Technical diploma or associate's degree in electrical engineering technology or a related field.
- Three to five years of experience as an electrical technician in manufacturing.
- Paper-industry experience is preferred.
- Proficiency in reading electrical schematics, diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Knowledge of electrical codes, safety standards, and paper-manufacturing regulations.
- PLC programming and troubleshooting experience is advantageous.
