Provide remote and on-site technical support to field technicians and reliability managers working on upstream electrical infrastructure, serving as the escalation point for complex infrastructure issues.
Develop and deliver training for Highland’s field technicians on upstream electrical infrastructure—system architecture, safe work practices, troubleshooting methodology, and equipment-specific procedures.
Support the operational readiness and ongoing performance of interconnections between chargers, vehicles, and upstream assets—including battery energy storage systems (BESS), solar canopies, and other energy integrations—including those supporting Highland’s vehicle-to-grid (V2G) aspirations.
Partner with Highland’s Energy team to characterize the real-world efficiency of power-conversion equipment, validate losses against deployed charge-management profiles.
Review sold projects for operational readiness—equipment access, serviceability, spare-parts strategy, and long-term maintainability—before deployment begins.
Cross-train with Highland’s Charger Reliability Engineering function to build shared technical depth and coverage redundancy across infrastructure and charging systems.
Develop and maintain operational infrastructure standards, inspection and commissioning checklists, and documentation that drive consistency, safety, and continuous improvement across depots.
5+ years in electrical, power, or infrastructure engineering with substantial field time—EV charging, utilities, energy, or fleet depot environments preferred; prior field service engineering experience strongly preferred.
