Role Purpose

Practical, site-focused Electrical Engineer supporting electrical works for data center MEP projects.

The role is focused on delivery, coordination, inspections, testing readiness, documentation, site fixes, and handover rather than design only.

Electrical Site Execution

  • Manage daily electrical site activities for data center delivery works.
  • Coordinate containment, cable trays, trunking, conduits, panels, DBs, isolators, earthing, bonding, and equipment power connections.
  • Ensure installations comply with approved drawings, project specifications, method statements, and quality requirements.
  • Coordinate electrical works with HVAC, mechanical, BMS, fire alarm, ELV, architectural, civil, and structural works.
  • Check routing, segregation, access, support systems, cable bending radius, labeling, clearances, and installation quality.
  • Identify site clashes, missing information, wrong installations, access issues, and sequencing problems.

Equipment and Interfaces

  • Coordinate electrical requirements for HVAC equipment, pumps, control panels, BMS panels, sensors, actuators, and main MEP equipment.
  • Verify power availability, isolator locations, containment routes, cable access, earthing points, and control cable interfaces.
  • Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and the internal project team.

Drawings and Site Fixes

  • Review IFC drawings, shop drawings, coordination drawings, single-line diagrams, load schedules, cable schedules, and equipment details.
  • Mark up site changes for draftsman updates and raise RFIs for incomplete, conflicting, or unbuildable drawings.
  • Support site sketches, redlines, as-built inputs, and technical clarification notes.
  • Ensure site fixes are traceable and properly documented.

QA, Testing and Handover

  • Prepare and support WIRs, MIRs, ITPs, checklists, inspection records, and consultant inspections.
  • Verify material approvals before installation.
  • Support continuity, insulation resistance, earthing, polarity, labeling, torque, and applicable pre-energization checks.
  • Track snags, inspection comments, NCRs, and closure actions.
  • Support handover documentation, as-built drawings, test records, certificates, O&M manuals, and system completion files.

Reporting and Coordination

  • Prepare daily progress reports covering completed works, manpower, materials, blockers, risks, next actions, and photo evidence.
  • Attend site coordination meetings and provide clear updates.
  • Track open issues and push closure with subcontractors and internal teams.
  • Escalate critical risks affecting HVAC, BMS, commissioning, energization, or handover.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline.
  • 5–10 years of electrical site experience in MEP projects.
  • Experience in data centers, telecom facilities, critical infrastructure, industrial buildings, hospitals, airports, or technical facilities is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of electrical installation, containment, power distribution, earthing, equipment interfaces, inspection processes, and handover documentation.
  • Driving license is mandatory.
  • Equivalency certificate is required.

Required Technical Skills

  • Electrical containment and cable routing.
  • LV panels, DBs, isolators, earthing, bonding, and equipment power connections.
  • Reading SLDs, load schedules, cable schedules, layouts, shop drawings, and coordination drawings.
  • Electrical interface coordination with HVAC, BMS, fire alarm, ELV, and mechanical systems.
  • Inspection documentation including WIRs, MIRs, ITPs, RFIs, NCRs, and snag tracking.
  • MS Office proficiency and AutoCAD drawing review ability.
  • AutoCAD editing is an advantage.

Compensation

  • Pay is AED 8,000–12,000 per month.

Workplace

  • Work location is in person.
  • Immediate joiners only.
