Bachelor's Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or a related field from a recognized university.
At least 3 years of experience in relevant electronics design, with a proven record of success in product delivery.
Experience in embedded computing systems, computing architecture, interfaces.
Experience performing schematic and layout activities independently, and have experience with PCB CAD design packages – preferably Altium Designer
Solid grasp of the concepts surrounding Design for Manufacture, and EMC mitigation methods
A drive to creatively seek methods for optimizing cost and manufacturability.
Must be familiar with and able to operate a wide range of electronic test equipment
Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to evaluate the long-term implications and consequences of potential solutions
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team and to contribute ideas and insights into project decisions
Strong verbal and written communication skills are required to share ideas with other departments.
Excellent organizational skills and prioritizing tasks in a dynamic R&D environment. Preferably, experience in working with global manufacturers to successfully deliver products to the market.
This position does not have any direct reports
You may be required to spend up to 10 percent of work hours traveling. Accordingly, you are required to have no impediments to international travel, and you should have and maintain a valid passport and any other travel related documents necessary for the purposes of travel.
Our normal work environment is one of a highly interactive group. You will be required to work within that environment while still delivering on your own job objectives.
You will contribute not only to your own projects but also to those of the group.
This is a Calgary in office-based role
