Purpose of the Position
SMART Technologies is seeking an Electrical Engineer to develop new products incorporating 4K HDMI, touch technology, and collaboration tools.
The role reports to the Manager, Electrical Engineering and provides technical program leadership and direction to other electrical engineers.
The position contributes to product development from initial concept through mass production.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Design and develop electronics for new products, including specifications, layouts, schematics, test plans, coverage, and documentation.
- Design and implement circuit- and PCB-level systems for larger systems or products.
- Use AI tools to accelerate data analysis and problem solving.
- Design analog, digital, and power circuitry that meets system and business requirements.
- Work cross-functionally to negotiate design tradeoffs.
- Qualify and verify designs against quality and reliability requirements.
- Ensure designs meet applicable global regulatory requirements.
- Scope work, prepare estimates, commit to dates, and plan deliverables with Project Managers.
- Troubleshoot customer escalations in the field and perform third-party supplier design verification.
