Electrical Engineer, Buildings

Design electrical building systems including power distribution, lighting, life safety, communications, and integrated energy solutions.

Deliver clear, technically strong calculations, drawings, specifications, and project documentation.

Collaborate closely with architects and multidisciplinary engineering teams to create fully coordinated building designs.

Support project delivery from concept design through construction, including site reviews and responding to contractor queries.

Apply relevant Canadian codes, standards, and best practices to ensure safe, compliant, high‐quality electrical systems.

Integrate sustainability, energy efficiency, and low‐carbon strategies into building electrical designs.

Communicate design intent effectively to internal teams, clients, and external partners to maintain alignment throughout project stages.

You bring progressive experience in electrical engineering for building systems, gained through hands‐on project delivery and real‐world design work.

You have, or are eligible for, P.Eng. with EGBC, or are actively working toward professional licensure.

You’ve contributed to building‐focused projects such as commercial, institutional, healthcare, educational, mixed‐use, or civic facilities.

You’re comfortable navigating all stages of design — from early concepts to construction — with a focus on practical, buildable solutions.

You are proficient with industry‐standard tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, and electrical design/calculation software.

You thrive in collaborative, multidisciplinary environments and are motivated by delivering work that improves communities.
