Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience drafting industrial control panels.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical/AutoCAD and strong knowledge of industrial control panel design, manufacturing practices, and industrial automation systems.
- Familiarity with electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, cable schedules, BOMs, revision control processes, and engineering documentation.
- Ability to interpret electrical specifications, P&IDs, and customer design standards, with strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards, including UL 508A, CSA C22.2 No. 286, CSA C22.1 (CEC), CSA/UL/NEMA requirements, and hazardous location standards.
Experience
Experience designing industrial control panels, electrical systems, or automation systems, with exposure to PLC's, HMIs, instrumentation, and control technologies.
Experience producing electrical schematics, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, cable schedules and Bill of Materials (BOMs).
Experience working in industries such as Oil & Gas, Manufacturing, or Renewable Energy is considered an asset.
Previous experience in roles such as Electrical Designer, Industrial Control Panel Designer, Control Systems Designer, Controls Technician, Instrumentation Designer, or related fields considered an asset.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Drafting Technology, or a related field preferred.
