Electrical Design Engineer - Contractor

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer - Contractor to support our project team at ESCO Maritime Solutions, based in Rugeley, Staffordshire.

You will play a key role in producing bespoke electrical designs that underpin the development of complex equipment for harsh and demanding environments.

There will be a requirement to be on-site 4 days a week initially and then a minimum of 2 days per week after the 3-month induction period.

Design and develop advanced electrical schematics and control systems.

Analyse, verify, and optimise electrical designs to ensure performance, reliability, and compliance.

Generate technical requirements and specifications for electrical systems.

Capture, document, and maintain electrical schematics to a high standard.

Select suitable cables and protective devices, considering safety, function, and cost.

Provide technical input on component selection and system configuration.

Collaborate effectively with multi-disciplinary engineering and project teams.

Participate in internal and customer-facing meetings where required.

Maintain comprehensive documentation in line with ESCO’s engineering procedures.

Required Qualifications and Skills HNC or higher in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.

Proven experience in electrical design and system specification.

Good working knowledge of relevant electrical standards and regulations.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and engineering documentation tools.
