Role Overview
The Mid-Level Electrical Design Engineer delivers electrical building-services design for building projects from concept through tender and construction stages.
The role works within a multidisciplinary MEP consultancy team and covers design documentation, authority requirements, and coordination.
Responsibilities
- Design LV power distribution, lighting and controls, small power, containment, standby and emergency power, earthing, and lightning protection.
- Coordinate ELV/ICT and fire alarm interfaces.
- Prepare load calculations, cable sizing, voltage-drop studies, and fault-level studies.
- Produce single-line diagrams, layouts, specifications, and schedules using AutoCAD and Revit BIM.
- Interface with mechanical, public health, and architectural teams to resolve clashes.
- Support MEP coordination and value-engineering activities.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in a consultancy environment is required.
- Demonstrable Middle East project delivery experience is required.
- A BEng in Electrical Engineering is required.
- Working knowledge of Middle East authority requirements, including DEWA and Civil Defence, is required.
- Knowledge of applicable local codes and IEC, BS, and NFPA standards is required.
