Salary: WWFG.05 $22.93 - $27.52 per hour Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:00 A.M. – 3:30 P.M. (EST) Hours may vary due to work assignments, or projects. Work Location: 455 Moccasin Bend Rd (Moccasin Bend Wastewater Treatment Plant) FLSA Status: This is a Non-Exempt position.
SERIES LEVEL: This is the first level of a three-level Industrial Electrician series.

Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed and may be required to perform additional, position-specific duties.)
Assist Industrial Electricians in the troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment.
Learn to read and understand electronic and electrical schematics under guidance from senior staff.
Aid in troubleshooting electrical equipment and systems under the direction of experienced electricians.
Assist in the assembly and disassembly of electrical components and systems as directed.
Learn to operate and maintain electrical tools and equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
Assist in maintaining documentation and records related to electrical work as required.
Follow all safety protocols and procedures while working in potentially hazardous environments.
May perform general cleaning and maintenance tasks on vehicles, equipment, and tools as assigned.
Prepare and maintain documentation related to work performed, including work orders and maintenance records.
Shall be required to be on call and respond to emergencies as needed to facilitate training and assist experienced electricians.
Must meet regular attendance requirements.
Must be able to maintain good interpersonal relationships with staff, co-workers, managers and citizens.
Must accomplish the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations, in a timely manner.
Performs other duties as assigned.
This position is deemed essential during inclement weather situations, and must report to or remain at work, even when administrative closings are announced, as determined by the Department Head.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or GED or any combination of equivalent experience and education.
This is a career ladder position.
This position will receive an automatic progression to Industrial Electrician 1 when the incumbent has achieved the required minimum qualifications and licenses/certifications for the next position in the series.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Basic knowledge of electrical systems and equipment preferred.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment; learn and take direction from experienced electricians.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Positions in this class typically require: climbing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, vibrations, fumes, odors, dusts, gases, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, work space restrictions, intense noises, and travel.
