Program Overview
This opportunity is part of a six-month traineeship within CNBC editorial and newsroom teams in Abu Dhabi.
The program provides hands-on exposure to live broadcast production, newsroom operations, field reporting, and digital content creation.
The role is designed for early-career graduates pursuing TV news and business journalism careers.
Key Responsibilities
- Support show production teams with daily news segments and live programming.
- Assist with broadcast scripts, headlines, and show elements.
- Research stories, markets, companies, and interview guests.
- Transcribe interviews and identify soundbites for TV and digital use.
- Prepare video clips, graphics requests, and lower-thirds.
- Work with video editors on packages and short-form digital content.
- Assist with guest coordination and pre-interview preparation.
- Contribute ideas for segments, features, and digital content.
- Support field shoots and special projects when required.
- Clip and package highlights for CNBC digital and social platforms.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Graduated from or be enrolled in the final year at an Abu Dhabi university.
- Be a recent graduate or final-year student in journalism, media, business, economics, or a related field.
- Be willing to travel to London and Singapore for two weeks each during the traineeship.
- Have a strong interest in business news, financial markets, and global current affairs.
- Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced, live news environment.
- Manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines with strong organization.
- Have a basic understanding of TV production workflows and digital media.
- Show willingness to learn and take initiative.
- Be a team player with strong interpersonal skills.
