- Deliver high quality EAL support and intervention programmes for secondary students
- Assess students' English language proficiency and identify individual learning needs
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons that develop students’ speaking, listening, reading and writing skills
- Support students in accessing the mainstream curriculum across a range of subjects
- Work collaboratively with subject teachers, pastoral staff and parents to ensure student success
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records and reports
- Contribute to the wider life of the school through enrichment activities, events and school initiatives
- Promote inclusion, wellbeing and high expectations for all learners
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in English, Applied Linguistics, Education or a related field
- Recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, BEd, QTS or equivalent)
- Experience teaching EAL students within a secondary school setting
- Strong understanding of language acquisition and effective EAL teaching strategies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a diverse international environment
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

- Newton British Academy – Barwa City, Doha, Qatar is seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated and experienced EAL (English as an Additional Language) Secondary Teacher to join our successful and growing team.
