Job Overview

  • The British International School Abu Dhabi is seeking an enthusiastic, dynamic, and adaptable Social Worker to join our dedicated team.
  • The successful candidate will be passionate about supporting students' social, emotional, behavioural, and academic wellbeing, while working collaboratively with families, staff, and external agencies to ensure every child can thrive.
  • The closing date for applications is 6th August 2026. The start date for the role is October 2026.

About You

  • We are looking for a compassionate, proactive, and highly organised professional who is committed to supporting the wellbeing and success of young people.
  • You will hold a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Social Services, or a related field, and have a minimum of two years' experience in youth related social work, ideally within an educational setting.
  • You will demonstrate excellent communication and relationship building skills, enabling you to work effectively with students, families, colleagues, and external agencies.
  • The successful candidate will be skilled in providing social and emotional support, maintaining accurate records, managing sensitive situations with professionalism, and contributing to a positive, inclusive school culture.

About The Role

  • Provide individual and group support, contribute to intervention planning, assist with crisis response and safeguarding matters, and promote positive partnerships between home and school.
  • Work collaboratively to identify and address barriers to learning, support student engagement and wellbeing, and ensure that appropriate support systems are in place for students and families.
