Role
The Drilling Optimization Engineer in Training will work with engineers, account managers, R&D, product managers, and clients to improve drilling operations.
The role emphasizes drilling automation and optimization applications through data analysis, technical recommendations, and KPI reporting.
Team
The Drilling Optimization team improves customer drilling efficiency through products including DAS, Toolface Control, AutoDriller, PvT, Gas Analyzer, Drilling Mud Analyzer, and DataHub.
The team provides technical analysis, real-time monitoring, training, KPI performance reports, and recommendations to North American and international customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Support product trials involving drilling automation and mud management.
- Analyze drilling data and create KPIs, visualizations, reports, and presentations to improve drilling efficiency and product performance.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders on product development and improvements based on customer needs and operational insights.
- Assist with troubleshooting customer issues related to drilling automation and KPI products.
- Travel to client offices, rigs, and virtual meetings for preparation, training, and performance presentations; approximately 10% travel outside Calgary is expected.
