The Role
The Drilling Optimization Engineer will analyze client drilling data, provide technical recommendations, and create KPI reports to improve drilling operations and product use.
The role works with account managers, research and development, product managers, and clients, with emphasis on drilling automation and optimization applications.
Responsibilities
- Monitor drilling automation and mud management product trials and analyze drilling data.
- Develop KPIs, visualizations, reports, and presentations that identify opportunities to improve drilling efficiency and product performance.
- Collaborate on product development and improvements based on customer needs and operational insights.
- Troubleshoot customer issues related to drilling automation and KPI products.
- Travel to client offices, rigs, and virtual sessions for preparation, training, and performance presentations; approximately 10% travel outside Calgary is expected.
- Analyze customer data to demonstrate product value and identify product-line revenue opportunities.
Qualifications
- Understand fundamental drilling practices and industry terminology through prior field and office experience.
- Have experience with drilling mechanics and drilling fluids principles.
