Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

• Operate the D65Smartroc drill in a safe and efficient way in accordance with all relevant legislation, company policies and procedures.
• Perform field level risk assessments.
• Maintain a high level of housekeeping as well as refilling all fluids and replacing tooling as required.
• Complete logbooks and daily reports on delays, production, geological information, and safety issues.
• Use two-way-radio, and horn signals to communicate with other operators and ensure safety.
• Use the drill according to operating practices to bore holes varying in sizes from 165mm to 229mm.
• Monitor gauges, and other indicators to make ensure the drill is working properly, report discrepancies.
• Monitor gauges and adjust pull-down, hold-back, rotation and air pressures to optimize penetration rates and borehole quality as ground conditions change.

Required Experience and Skill Set

• 3+ years of experience operating a contour drill at a mine site.
