Drill and Blast Engineer

Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering (preferred)

Minimum of 2 years’ experience in drill and blast operations or engineering, with a strong focus on drill and blast design

Proven capability across various mine planning functions, with a strategic understanding of open pit mining design

Proficiency in CAD-based mine design software and mining applications such as Surpac and ShotPlus

Strong analytical skills, with experience preparing and managing operating budgets and analysing cost variances

Technical knowledge across key mining operations including drilling, blast hole charging, excavation, and haulage

Contract management experience (desirable, but not mandatory), including inspection test plans, quality assurance and monthly claim assessments

Excellent report writing, interpersonal, and communication skills

Ability to demonstrate effective people management and team collaboration

Solid understanding of mine safety regulations and environmental management systems

High level of computer literacy, particularly with the Microsoft Office Suite and mining-specific software
