Role Description

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct patient consultations and clinical assessments, review medical histories, and perform appropriate examinations.
• Request and interpret diagnostic tests and develop evidence-based treatment plans.
• Explain diagnoses, treatment options, medications, preventative care, and follow-up requirements.
• Maintain accurate and confidential clinical records and monitor patient progress.
• Coordinate care with healthcare professionals and make appropriate referrals when required.
• Support health education, preventative care, patient safety, and continuous improvement of clinical practices.

Qualifications

• Medical degree or recognised qualification in Medicine from an accredited institution.
• Current registration or eligibility for registration with the relevant medical regulatory authority.
• Strong knowledge of clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and preventative healthcare principles.
• Ability to conduct comprehensive patient consultations and clinical examinations.
• Strong clinical reasoning, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to interpret laboratory, imaging, and other diagnostic results.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for explaining medical information clearly and sensitively.
• Commitment to patient confidentiality, informed consent, professional ethics, and patient safety.
• Ability to collaborate with nurses, allied health professionals, specialists, and other healthcare stakeholders.
• Strong documentation and clinical record-keeping skills.
• Commitment to evidence-based practice, continuing professional development, and quality improvement.
• Ability to manage priorities while maintaining a high standard of patient care.
