Role Overview
Capital One is building responsible, reliable AI systems and scalable, high-performance AI infrastructure for banking products and services.
The Intelligent Foundations and Experiences team develops generative AI models, platforms, guardrails, observability, evaluations, and agentic workflows.
Responsibilities
- Partner with engineering, research, program management, and product teams to deliver AI-powered products.
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and support foundation model training, LLM inference, similarity search, guardrails, evaluations, governance, and observability.
- Develop optimization and context-generation techniques for production AI systems.
- Build monitoring, anomaly detection, and root-cause analysis for multi-turn and headless agentic applications.
- Collaborate with business lines on high-value agentic applications.
- Coach engineers, write technical documentation and blogs, and represent Capital One at leading AI conferences.
Technical Environment
- Relevant technologies include AWS Ultraclusters, Hugging Face, vector databases, Nemo Guardrails, PyTorch, and other open-source and SaaS AI technologies.
- The role requires strong engineering, mathematics, hardware, software, and AI foundations.
- The ideal candidate stays current with AI research and applies novel techniques judiciously in production.
