Key Responsibilities: Oversee and manage the Disease Control Program/Immunization Program and interdisciplinary team.
Oversee and manage the after-hours on-call Community Health Nurse team.
Administer the program and program practices in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations and guidelines, such as COMAR, CDC, MOSH, and OSHA.
Oversee and administer the Local Health Department Office of Vital Records.
Manage and oversee state and local funding for the Disease Control/Immunization Program, including budget and contract monitoring.
Serve as liaison between the local health department, Maryland Department of Health, and external stakeholders.
Represent the Disease Control/Immunization Program and participate in state cohort and case reviews, Disease Control Council of Governments (COG), public health emergency preparedness and response activities, and other stakeholder activities and trainings.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
As a manager/supervisor of unionized employees, this position has a responsibility for fostering a positive labor relations environment based on mutual trust, respect, and cooperation.
Evening and Weekend Hours: This position requires the ability to work some evenings and weekends.
Working Offsite Locations: This position requires the ability to attend meetings or perform work at locations outside the office.

Experience : Five (5) years of progressively responsible professional experience overseeing a disease control and prevention program, including supervision of staff and management of contracts and grants.
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree.
Equivalency : An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
Note: Based upon legislative requirements, some positions may be subject to different minimum qualifications.
License : Possession of a valid Class "C" (or equivalent) driver’s license from the applicant's state of residence when required for job-related duties
