Team and Role Overview

Cisco Supply Chain IT aims to build an adaptable, innovative, and scalable supply chain that supports operational excellence and company growth.

The Director of Software Engineering will lead supply chain engineering teams and drive AI-native software development lifecycle excellence.

The role focuses on agentic solutions across the supply chain ecosystem, including enterprise systems, ERP, and legacy modernization.

Strategic Leadership and Platforms

  • Define the roadmap for in-app and role-based AI integration across core supply chain systems.
  • Establish practices for agent security, semantic modeling, multi-agent protocols, and continuous agent learning.
  • Oversee scalable agentic frameworks using LangGraph, LangChain, and LLMs with enterprise Ask/Respond capabilities.
  • Transform legacy supply chain systems into modern AI-powered platforms while minimizing operational disruption.

AI, Data, and Integration

  • Guide Natural Language Interaction and Retrieval-Augmented Generation systems that provide actionable enterprise insights.
  • Develop secure, high-throughput connectors using APIs, SDKs, and database drivers for Oracle, SAP HANA, Snowflake, and MongoDB.
  • Set direction for LLM prompt-engineering frameworks and APIs supporting input parsing and intent recognition.
  • Lead adoption of FIPA ACL, MCP, A2A, and other multi-agent communication and integration protocols.

Leadership and Collaboration

  • Partner with business, product, security, and infrastructure leaders to align AI initiatives with supply chain goals.
  • Build and develop high-performing engineering teams and senior technical talent.
  • Represent Cisco Supply Chain IT in industry forums and partnerships.
  • Promote code quality, agile delivery, continuous learning, and alignment between site strategy and organizational goals.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Broad supply chain systems experience across new product introduction, planning, inventory, sourcing, manufacturing, and logistics.
  • Experience integrating and working with contract manufacturers.
  • Expertise in Oracle or SAP ERP systems at scale and experience implementing end-to-end systems.
  • Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP in a multi-cloud enterprise environment.
  • Experience integrating sales, order management, finance, export, legal, security, and identity systems.
  • Proven senior leadership and team-building experience with a global workforce.
  • Strong analytical, written, verbal, executive communication, influence, and collaboration skills.
  • Strong business judgment and business analytics or financial skills.
