The Director Region Category Strategy is responsible for driving growth, profitability, and strategic market leadership in a specified product category. This role blends product category management, supplier partnership, and business development leadership. The Category Director will work closely with the sales teams, wire center, and key manufacturing partners to develop and execute strategies that expand market share, improve profitability, and position the region as the leading provider in our markets. What You'll Do:
Own regions assigned product category strategy, including pricing, supplier alignment, and market positioning
Manage key supplier relationships, including strategic partnerships with manufacturers
Monitor market dynamics including pricing, supply chain trends, and competitive positioning
Lead rebate strategy, supplier programs, and margin optimization initiatives
Work closely with regions procurement teams to ensure inventory strategy aligns with market conditions
Partner with region sales teams to develop and win large opportunities
Support complex projects by helping customers evaluate solutions, value engineering opportunities, and labor-saving alternatives
Identify opportunities to expand region presence in large project work, datacenter, industrial, and construction segments
Assist sales teams in positioning region as a solution provider
Serve as a technical and commercial resource for the field
Identify and pursue new growth opportunities within assigned product category
Help develop and implement a product specialization strategy, supporting both product leadership and customer growth initiatives
Work with internal leaders to evaluate regional coverage, resource allocation, and market opportunities
Provide insights and recommendations to leadership on pricing trends, competitive positioning, and profitability improvement
Collaborate with Product Management, Strategic Growth team, Operations, and Regional sales leadership
Support regions broader strategy of specialization and category leadership

7+ years of relevant product category sales experience, distribution, or manufacturing
Experience working with electrical distributors, contractors, and manufacturers
Experience supporting large construction or industrial projects
High School or GED - Required
4 Year / Bachelor's Degree - Preferred
