Job Summary
- The Director of Marketing Communications is responsible for the planning, direction, control, and coordination of all communication activities, with an emphasis on public relations.
- Promotes and maintains good communications to enhance the prestigious image of the hotel and contributes to revenues.
Candidate Profile
- High school diploma or GED; 4 years experience in sales and marketing, guest services, front desk, or related professional area.
- OR 2 year degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major; 2 years experience in sales and marketing or related professional area.
Core Work Activities
- Develops an annual communications plan with specific goals and budgets.
- Compares actual achievements against goals and takes corrective action.
- Assists DOM in planning mailing activities and oversees execution.
- Ensures corporate ID manual is up to date and implemented.
- Prepares monthly sales & marketing communications report.
- Supervises and directs photography for advertising, collateral and PR.
- Ensures department has comprehensive master slide/photo/CD library.
- Supervises operations of in house art department.
- Monitors competitor hotels and industry trends.
- Acts as official spokesperson and responds to media requests within 24 hours.
- Compiles and maintains media contacts list.
- Prepares press releases for targeted media.
