About the Role
This Director-level role owns a product's Manufacturing CMC commercialization lifecycle from post-Phase 2 through launch and beyond.
The role is a strategic leadership position requiring pharmaceutical development or manufacturing knowledge, executive presence, and matrix leadership without direct authority.
Manufacturing CMC Strategy
- Own the Manufacturing CMC Commercialization Strategy across Development, Manufacturing, and Business Units.
- Lead the Product Core Team and oversee technical execution, ownership, milestone accountability, and proactive risk management.
- Drive alignment of launch presentation and commercial image strategy across functional and affiliate stakeholders.
- Ensure gate deliverables are defined, plans are in place, and execution remains on track.
Stakeholder Orchestration
- Coordinate Development, Engineering, Analytical Quality, Technical Services and Manufacturing Sciences, Supply Chain, Manufacturing Sites, and CMC Regulatory.
- Build a manufacturing technical agenda that serves as the single source of truth for product strategy.
- Resolve bottlenecks through targeted convening of the right stakeholders.
- Provide senior leaders with clear product status through disciplined intelligence gathering.
Required Background
- Deep pharmaceutical development and/or manufacturing knowledge is required.
- The role requires executive presence and the ability to drive alignment across a powerful matrixed organization without direct authority.
Year-One Success Measures
Functional leaders trust the stakeholder orchestration process and the manufacturing technical agenda is a coherent product strategy.
At least one major bottleneck is resolved through targeted convening.
Senior leaders consistently understand product status and the product team operates with greater speed and purpose.
