Responsibilities
- Lead the formulation and implementation of the health and safety strategy
- Develop, maintain, and enforce health and safety policies, procedures, and guidelines tailored to large scale construction projects
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and safety audits to identify hazards and implement effective mitigation measures
- Manage incident investigations, root cause analysis, and ensure timely corrective and preventive actions
- Oversee health and safety training initiatives and promote continuous awareness across all levels of the construction workforce
- Ensure compliance with local, national, and international health and safety regulations and standards
- Collaborate with project management, contractors, and external agencies to integrate health and safety considerations into all construction phases
- Monitor health and safety performance metrics and prepare detailed reports for executive management
- Advocate for a proactive safety culture and continuous improvement in health and safety practices
- Keep abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and regulations related to construction health and safety
Requirements
- Extensive experience in health and safety leadership roles, preferably in large scale construction projects
- In depth knowledge of HSE regulations and standards
- Proven ability to develop and implement HSE strategies
