Opportunity
Lead RBC's Emerging Payments product team and manage the bank's current payment product portfolio.
Architect the vision for optimal payment solutions and emerging payment opportunities.
Launch Real-Time Rail capabilities for commercial banking clients and drive commercialization, growth, and adoption.
Product Leadership and Strategy
- Lead product vision, strategy, and development for Interac e-Transfer capabilities and Real-Time Rail for commercial clients.
- Create the emerging payments product strategy and define short- and long-term roadmaps for Interac, Real-Time Rail, and Online Tax Filing.
- Execute the new-products roadmap and provide clear updates on progress, risks, and trade-offs.
- Set strategic direction, hold the team accountable to outcomes, and maintain awareness of industry changes and emerging trends.
- Manage vendor relationships and engagements with industry partners.
Team Leadership and Development
- Build, lead, and develop a team of product managers.
- Establish standards for product discipline, prioritization, and execution.
- Support team members' professional development and collaborate across the wider product organization.
Cross-Functional Delivery
- Partner with Technology, Operations, business lines, Legal, Risk, and Compliance to translate product requirements into delivered capabilities.
- Ground products in real client needs and engage business lines as primary customers.
- Craft product narratives and business cases to secure investment and stakeholder alignment.
- Communicate across executive narratives and detailed working sessions on product direction and impact.
Must-Have Qualifications
- At least five years of product management experience, including at least three years of full P&L or business accountability for a product line.
- Proven success launching and enhancing products against quantified objectives such as revenue, adoption, or retention.
- Experience with payment products, Interac and/or real-time payments, and emerging technology changes such as APIs or embedded payments.
- At least two years of people management or leadership experience.
- Experience setting product vision and roadmaps and holding teams accountable through in-house build and delivery.
- Strong communication skills, including executive-level product narratives and detailed working sessions.
- Data-driven and customer-centric decision-making using qualitative and quantitative insights.
- Comfort with ambiguity, influence without direct authority, and vendor relationship management.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Prior RBC experience, including P&L, Channels/Digital, or equivalent experience, is preferred.
- Prior experience with emerging payment technologies and awareness of the payments landscape is preferred.
