Director Data Engineering

Organizational Leadership

• Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing data engineering team and technical specialists.
• Collaborate with Operations, Data Science, Analytics, IT, and Business Intelligence teams.
• Establish talent development programs, technical career paths, and engineering excellence initiatives.
• Manage technology budgets, vendor relationships, and strategic partnerships.

Minimum Requirements

• At least 12 years of professional experience in a related IT field, including at least 4 years in leadership, planning, and communication roles.
• Deep expertise in Azure data services, including Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Data Lake Storage, Event Hubs, and Cosmos DB.
• Advanced Databricks proficiency and extensive experience with business intelligence development, administration, and enterprise deployment.
• Experience with modern Lakehouse architecture, Medallion patterns, Unity Catalog, streaming, event-driven systems, and AI-ready infrastructure.
• Proficiency in Python, Scala, SQL, .NET, and infrastructure technologies.
• Experience architecting AI-first data platforms, generative AI data curation workflows, and RAG-ready architectures.
• Strong communication, technical leadership, customer focus, innovation, and cross-organizational collaboration skills.
• Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or an equivalent field.

Compensation

• The stated base pay range is $126,900 to $169,200, with possible bonus or long-term incentive opportunities.
