The Director, Business Development role is responsible for managing and growing Direct to Consumer Insurance partnership relationships and the company’s Direct to Customer Telesales-based cross-sell and up-sell campaigns.
The role will act as the primary liaison between Combined Canada and its 3rd party insurance distribution partners to drive revenue growth and innovative synergistic growth opportunities and to act as the lead on Telesales management efforts internally.
The position reports to the Chief Distribution Officer and is located in Markham, Ontario.
We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team who will embody Combined Canada’s entrepreneurial spirit and who will approach his/her work with a positive mental attitude consistent with the company’s culture.
Major Responsibilities
- Lead the business development process and account strategy for generating and developing business opportunities with 3rd party sales and marketing partners.
- Manage multiple opportunities through different stages of the business development cycle at one time, working with cross-functional teams as needed and serving as the primary partner contact during the business development process.
- Influence key decision makers at target partners.
- Work to deepen relationships with carriers to expand into new products distribution channels and identify additional revenue opportunities.
- Manage the Telesales efforts for Direct to Customer outreach campaigns.
- Liaison with the Marketing team on the development of email and direct mail campaigns
- Minimum of 7-10 years business experience preferably in both the financial services and insurance industries 2 years of prior legal experience.
- Knowledge and previous experience in the direct-to-consumer distribution space
- Strong business acumen and strategic thinker, ability to provide sound business development rationale
- Ability to work on multiple tasks, handle high volume of matters, and manage business needs/priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong influence skills, with the ability to build collaborative relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Enthusiasm for working in a team-oriented, dynamic environment.
- Detail-oriented, organized, responsive and deadline-driven.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills.
- Bilingualism (English/French) an asset.
