Role Overview

Client Value and Business Development

• Lead functional solutioning for pursuits, requests for proposal, and oral presentations.
• Translate client business problems into SAP solutions that Talan can estimate and deliver.
• Build and defend value cases with benefit drivers, baseline measures, and required operational changes.
• Advise decision-makers and recommend no-bid decisions when industry fit or client readiness is insufficient.
• Define solution assumptions, scope boundaries, exclusions, and functional inputs to estimates.
• Design and present demonstrations, accelerators, and proof-of-concept scenarios with alliance and presales teams.
• Support joint pursuits, industry positioning, and engagement with SAP account teams and ecosystem partners.

Design and Delivery Leadership

• Act as the functional design authority and decide on process design and fit-to-standard matters.
• Chair or co-chair workshops focused on critical processes.
• Transfer the sold solution to delivery teams with documented assumptions, scope baseline, and design intent.
• Serve as an escalation point when scope, industry fit, or process design is at risk.
• Review and approve process design deliverables before client sign-off.
• Validate delivered design against the original value case through testing, go-live, and stabilization.
• Advise teams on organizational impacts in partnership with change management leadership.

Collaboration and Practice Development

• Coach functional consultants and domain leads to strengthen credible industry conversations with clients.
• Advance the industry intellectual property roadmap, including process models, configuration accelerators, demo scenarios, and client references.
• Feed delivery lessons into leads, packaged offerings, accelerators, and process content used by AI-enabled delivery tools.

Qualifications

• Nine to twelve years of relevant SAP experience in functional, solution design, or process architecture roles.
• Participation in at least four full-cycle SAP implementations, including at least two as a functional lead or solution owner.
• At least three years of experience with current SAP S/4HANA releases in public or private cloud and demonstrated fit-to-standard practice.
• Direct experience defining assumptions, scope, and effort estimates for delivery teams.
• Experience leading executive presentations, workshops, and value discussions with VP- or C-level stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Strong oral and written communication skills in French and English.

Industry and Solution Expertise

• Deep expertise is required in the industry vertical aligned to the role, with command of its end-to-end business processes.
• Relevant verticals described in the posting include mining, oil and gas, consumer packaged goods, and industrial manufacturing.
• Mining examples include mine-to-cash, asset management, MRO, royalties, shipment reconciliation, and mining-system integrations.
• Oil and gas examples include well-to-wallet, hydrocarbon products, joint venture accounting, tariffs, netback, and downstream logistics.
• CPG examples include demand planning, S&OP, trade promotions, revenue growth management, DSD, quality, recalls, EDI, GS1, and constrained-supply allocation.
• Industrial manufacturing examples include plan-to-produce, engineer-to-order, configure-to-order, MRP, quality, warranties, installed base, and SAP Project Systems.

Work Arrangement and Travel

• The role offers flexible hybrid work.
• Travel to client sites in Canada may represent 30% to 50% of working time during pursuit and design phases.
