What you will be doing
Execute the day-to-day management of BURNCO’s corporate social media channels, including content planning, platform-specific posts, community engagement, performance tracking, and issue escalation when required
Develop monthly and quarterly social content calendars aligned with broader marketing, communications, recruitment, community, and reputation objectives
Create authentic photo, video, written, and graphic content that highlights BURNCO’s people, projects, technical expertise, community involvement, land stewardship, operational milestones, and brand stories
Build strong relationships with regional teams, operational groups, employees, and subject-matter experts to uncover stories and translate technical information into clear, engaging content
Travel to BURNCO locations as needed to capture authentic photo and short-form video content while following all site safety requirements
Execute email marketing campaigns and newsletters, including list management, segmentation, templates, testing, compliance, and performance reporting
Coordinate paid digital and social advertising campaigns, including audience targeting, setup, budgets, trafficking, optimization, creative coordination, and KPI reporting
Maintain our digital presence by coordinating website updates, supporting SEO improvements, monitoring analytics, and working with external web partners when required
Maintain an organized digital content library to support ongoing content development, marketing, and communications needs
What we would like from you
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Marketing, Business, or a related field
3 - 5 years of social media and digital marketing experience, including strong organic social media experience
Hands-on experience managing paid social and digital advertising, including Meta Ads Manager and LinkedIn Campaign Manager
Strong writing, storytelling, audience engagement, and content creation skills
Comfortable shooting and editing short-form video and photography, with strong working knowledge of photography and video editing tools
Experience using email marketing platforms, digital analytics, audience insights, and reporting to improve content effectiveness and campaign outcomes
Ability to build relationships across operations, regional teams, employees, and stakeholders to gather information and uncover authentic stories
Strong organizational and project-management skills, with the initiative to manage competing priorities, solve problems, and deliver high-quality work independently
Able and willing to travel to operations, engage directly with employees, and work around industrial environments while following all safety requirements
Sound judgment and professionalism when representing BURNCO, with the ability to apply brand standards consistently across digital content, communications, and marketing activities
Digital marketing, social media strategy, content marketing, analytics, or advertising platform certifications are considered an asset
Location and other key details
- This is a full-time permanent position based out of our Calgary Corporate Office
- The hours of work will be Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week with occasional additional hours as required
- Travel to BURNCO operations and job sites will be required to capture content and engage directly with employees
