Desktop Engineer

  • The Desktop Engineer is responsible for providing technical support, maintenance, and administration of the on premises end user computing environment.
  • The role focuses on ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of desktop devices, operating systems, peripherals, and workplace technology while delivering excellent customer support to end users.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Level 1 and Level 2 support for desktop, laptop, printer, and peripheral related issues.
  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows operating systems and enterprise applications.
  • Support on premises Active Directory, Group Policy, file shares, and end user access requests.
  • Manage hardware deployments, upgrades, device refreshes, and asset lifecycle activities.
  • Perform break fix support, root cause analysis, and issue resolution for endpoint devices.
  • Support office IT infrastructure, including meeting room technology, network connectivity, and workplace devices.
  • Maintain endpoint security standards, patching, antivirus, and compliance requirements.
  • Document incidents, service requests, and technical procedures within the ITSM platform.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, network, and application support teams to resolve escalated issues.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of desktop support or end user computing experience.
  • Strong hands on experience with Windows desktop operating systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience supporting on premises environments, including Active Directory, Group Policy, and enterprise device management.
  • Knowledge of hardware troubleshooting, imaging, software deployment, and endpoint security tools.
  • Experience with ITSM/ticketing tools and service management processes.
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills.

  • Microsoft Modern Desktop Administrator Associate
  • CompTIA A+
  • CompTIA Network+
  • ITIL Foundation
